The PocketGPS Pro Moscow is intended for use mainly in navigation devices installed in cars on the basis of handbooks Pocket PC. The program will show your position or loca-tion, the route and speed on a map, it will find the necessary address or another object, lay down an automobile route across Moscow and Moscow area to avoid traffic jams, the routing is made by voice and visual tips.
The PocketGPS Pro Moscow allows:
- using informational databases as referred to the city and area, including more than 20 thousand items (the POI system);
- using voice tips when driving to learn about the forthcoming maneuvers and dis-tances, as well as getting messages displayed on a handbook screen. The Pock-etGPS Pro Moscow sounding is provided in two languages: Russian or English. Not only road maneuvers messages and program messages, but also the driver’s waypoints are sounded;
- establishing the optimum route for a driver, considering all the allowed turns and streets;
- loading information on traffic jams, which is considered at routing;
- executing the effective search of objects with addresses. At that, the detailed city and area map contains schemes of road junctions and highways crossings. Be-sides, you can find the nearest necessary object;
- creating on a map driver’s own waypoints and putting them into database stored in special files. The convenient and simple mechanism of opening waypoints al-lows quick identifying of objects on a map;
- working with different types of GPS receivers, allowing seeing a point on the map, in which you are located at the moment, as well as the direction of your move-ment;
- independently adjusting the program interface.
In the PocketGPS Pro program one of the best electronic maps (GIS – geographic infor-mation systems) of the Moscow area is applied, which was created by geographic infor-mation company Geocentre-Consulting. The map database contains data on more than 5000 streets of Moscow and cities of the Moscow area, such as Khimki, Lyubertsy, Po-dolsk, etc.), houses numbers in those streets, crossroads and road junctions, metro sta-tions, filling stations, shops and lots of other helpful information. The map is updated on a regular basis, the updated data are, as a rule, rendered to registered users.
Functions in handbooks, controlled by such operational systems as PocketPC/PocketPC 2002/WindowsMobile2003/2003SE. The PocketGPS Pro may be installed either on a flash-card or in the RAM file area and requires not less than 35 Mb of free space, de-pending on the version of the program and a card. To start the PocketGPS Pro, you need 15-22 Mb of free memory of programs depending on the program and a card. To quickly get the information about traffic jams you need the special device capable of receiving information through the paging or other data channel. The PocketGPS Pro will certainly appear useful as to individual users: tourists, car-drivers, businessmen for the use when driving, at home, in the office, as well as in com-panies working with freights transportation, delivery of goods to citizens, maintenance of cars on roads, for first aid driving, fire brigades, police (militia), etc. Attention!!!
